Brother Dies William H. Eikenberry 91 Flora Resident

William H. Eikenberry 91 brother of Oren Eikenberry of Flora died Tuesday morning at the Church of the Brethren home in Mexico. Funeral rites are Thursday afternoon with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery, Mexico.

Charge cattle dealer with illegal sale of dairy cows

John C Grubb 47 of Flora route 1 was arrested by Deputy John Miller on a four count warrant in Lafayette County for selling non tested cattle and altering a cow identification tag. Grubb posted a $1000 property bond and faces charges including TB and Brucellosis testing lapses and tag alteration.

Ward Sisters Win Camden Lions Outstanding Citizen Award

Susie Myrtle and Martha Ward of Camden were honored with the Camden Lions Outstanding Citizen Award for 1956. They have run the Camden exchange for thirty-two years, working daily from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. and have rarely taken a day off. The Lions club dinner featured slides on telephone service and the Ward sisters’ service to Camden.

Mrs Charles Kerlin to Head Drive for Mental Health Gifts

Mrs Charles Kerlin named general chairman of the county Mental Health Association Christmas gift drive. She will be aided by Tri Kappa members with township and city chairmen to be announced. Mrs. Lilly Terrill of Delphi was arrested by officers Wednesday morning on a charge of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. She is held in the county jail.

Delphi defeated West Lafayette 24 to 20 to clinch the Northern State Conference title race, with the Oracles overcoming injuries and late pressure. Camden physician among 30 honored at Indiana convention

Warden Swap Shifts Carroll to Laporte County

Lynn Anderson, Carroll county game warden since 1953, moves to Laporte county to serve as warden in the south half. Dallas Skull, from Vermillion county, will replace him in Carroll. Exchange expected shortly after November 1.

Education Classes For Adults Need More Enrollees

Delphi Public Schools offer adult education across many subjects but only 32 people have enrolled or shown interest, short of the 15 needed to form a class. Eight classes are currently represented including typing bookkeeping French sewing art chorus or band agriculture U S History Economics English Grammar mathematics wood working drafting American literature political science world history biological sciences physical science and driver training. Those interested should contact the Superintendent’s office in Delphi for enrollment details.

Young America Youth Faces Car Theft Charge

John W. Sanders, 19, of Young America, is jailed in Carroll County on vehicle taking charges. He had just completed a six month sentence at the Indiana State Farm on a similar charge. Sanders was arrested after the stolen car belonging to Walter Hammond of Deer Creek was found wrecked near Kokomo following a joyride through Howard County. He was returned to Delphi jail by Sheriff Carey and Deputy Miller.
