Anne Park accompanied a group from Fowler to St Anne Illinois on Tuesday. The trip involved local residents and followed a scheduled itinerary through the Illinois town.
At Delphi Little League Field a commemorative sign and plaque honor Paul Goyer for nine years of service directing three all star teams and winning two championships. Mrs Goyer received the plaque and a National Little League letter read by District Rep. Overholser praising Goyers dedication to youth and sportsmanship.
Delphi Community School Corporation sees resignations from three staff members as of this week. Rudolph Minneman, principal at Delphi Elementary for 13 years, will join Tippecanoe School Corporation as Elementary Curriculum Director for grades 1 through 6 in the 12 district. He plans to move to Lafayette after housing arrangements. Kenneth Bell, a sixth grade teacher and football statistician, will transfer to Battle Ground. Gordon Wheatley, Delphi bands director for three years, was not available for comment.
Candidates for Queen of the 4H Fair will attend a banquet Saturday evening July 30 at the Church of the Brethren in Flora. Food donated by members of Delta, Theta Chi. Contestants include Lana Humphrey Brenda Mullendore Kathy Graf Roberta Risley Judy Shoemaker Roberta Popejoy Renda Fultz Brenda Fultz Linda Thompson Diana Blickenstaff Janet Viney Roselle Turner Sandy Abbott. Rev John Laprad announces resignation effective August 31 after 28 years serving Carroll County churches. details cover his Virginia birth in 1912 and family, education at Manchester College and Purdue, and roles as postal carrier and minister.
Bob Graham hands keys to Bud Kesling of Camden as Kesling takes over management of the Delphi bulk plant effective August 1. The Grahams retire but stay in Delphi. Kesling, his wife and son plan to move to South Delphi. Wayne Chapman will be the Keslings’ agent-salesman in Camden.
Bryan and Vandy Gooch nine and twelve year old grandchildren of Mrs Albert Coghill of Delphi route two were injured in a four car crash near Carbondale Illinois Sunday afternoon. They rode with grandparents Mr and Mrs Lawrence Cunningham of St Louis. Bryan received thirteen stitches for a forehead wound and Vandy had bruises before treatment at Doctors Hospital.
This week NIPSCO will run gas lines into the court house. The existing furnace will be converted to gas by Von A. Burton of Flora and be ready this fall. The County Home will also receive a gas furnace once a pipe-laying permit is secured from the State Highway Department.

Frankfort routed Fowler 10-1 in Tuesday district playoff action at Frankfort. Logansport edged Winamac 5-4 in extra innings to advance.

La Neta Martin of South Bend visited Sunday with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Zollie Martin of Delphi.
A five man committee led by Robert Davis will organize an August 8 town meeting to discuss Burlington's possible incorporation as a step to secure water and sewage facilities. The plan includes a combined project costing about 306000 with 150000 for water and 156000 for sewage.
A 25-voice Lafayette Chapter S. P. E. B. S. Q. S. A. male chorus will perform on the Court House lawn at 8 p.m. Thursday as part of Old Settlers activities. The four day carnival starts Wednesday August 10 with Allen Amusement Company rides and shows. Special opening night prices apply and a bicycle will be given away Saturday at 5:00. The full Old Settlers program at City Park begins 2 p.m. and will be published next week.

Members of Iron Workers Union Local 379 Lafayette donated materials and labor to build two outside rest rooms at French Post Park site of their annual picnic. The Carroll County Choral Club will leave Flora Friday afternoon at 3 p.m. by chartered bus for a Winona Lake area tour. After dinner they will see Babes in Arms at Wagon Wheel Summer Theater, a theater-in-the-round and restaurant venue. Forty-one people are expected to participate.
A one car wreck occurred at 9 30 Sunday night on Carrollton hill when Kenneth Hall Davis 21 lost control and struck a REMC pole with a transformer. Damages to REMC property about 250 dollars and 200 dollars to the car. Trooper Dennis Davis and Sheriff Coghill investigated. Davis fined 25 dollars plus 18 25 dollars costs for DUI and 10 dollars plus 16 dollars costs for driving without a operator's license.
