In observance of the state's 150th birthday Carroll County historian Robert Bradshaw has prepared a map of Carroll County detailing historic spots in each township including the Potowatomie Trail Old Canal and Indian Reservations. Maps are sold at 25 cents in local businesses with larger quantities available through the committee and will be displayed at the County Fair and the History Mobile in Delphi on Friday August 12 from 1 to 9 p.m.

Carroll County treasurer Co. L. Sparky Carey remains in serious condition at St. Joseph Hospital Kokomo after a heart attack Friday evening. He visited his妻 at the hospital where surgery was pending. Carey previously suffered heart attacks and was once injured by criminals Prophet and Delta while sheriff transporting them from Lafayette to Delphi.
Delphi Community High School will add a two period Shop Math General Shop course taught by John Beach next year. The program links General Math to actual shop work to improve retention and immediate application of math concepts.
Three Carroll County residents were hospitalized after a late Saturday night crash northwest of Kokomo. Edna Ayres 25 Cutler in fair condition with severe facial and neck injuries. George Ayres 26 husband with multiple injuries. Charlotte Ayres 14 Flora admitted with possible back injuries. Others treated and released include Marlene Ayres 18 Flora and Anna Lou Chadwell 14 Cutler. State Trooper Needler and Deputy Mosier reported the car skidded 207 feet at a T intersection, struck a light pole, flipped. Ayres attributed brake failure. Car totaled.
Donald F. Connelly a former vocational agriculture teacher at Maconqua High School has become a salesman for the Carroll County Farm Bureau Insurance in Delphi. He and his wife and two daughters aged two years and three months have moved from Amboy Route 1 to 810 East Monroe Street Delphi.

The 111th Old Settlers Carnival begins Wednesday night with a four day program at City Park. Special ride prices, a bicycle giveaway Saturday, and 2 and 9 pm sentry dog demonstrations led by Sergeant Kinzer are planned. Chief Cree arranged details. Thursday features a male choir on the house lawn at 8 pm. Mrs. John T. Johnson heads the Old Settlers program at City Park at 2 pm. Delphi merchants resume sidewalk days Friday and Saturday.
The Delphi Community School Corporation plans a 57 cent per hundred valuation tax rate rise for 1967. Officials cite 30 cents for higher teacher salaries, 10 cents for three more teachers, 2 cents for bond fund, 15 cents for the special fund including new buses, and increases across most accounts. Total proposed budget is 82951 dollars.
Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Underhill returned from a vacation trip to Nova Scotia. A highlight of their journey was a visit to the original Peyton Place.
Band members drum major and majorettes are scheduled for rehearsals at 7 p.m. on Tuesday August 9 and Thursday August 11 in the High School Band Room. Director Clarence Marocco urges full attendance.
Felix and Tom Hedderie of Delphi High School and J Myer of Carroll High School Flora join 275 high school officers at IU for a summer workshop. The event, open to schools with enrollments under 1000, runs July through August, with eight councils organizing activities for the week.
