A public hearing by the Carroll County Drainage Board is scheduled for Wednesday August 3 in the Commissioners Room at the Court House in Delphi. Mulberry Man Narrowly Escapes Drowning at Lake Freeman
A 27 year old Clinton County man Robby Gascho of Mulberry is in serious condition after nearly drowning at Frazier's Beach on Lake Freeman Sunday. He was pulled from the water by other swimmers and transported first to White County Memorial Hospital in Monticello, then moved to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette and placed in intensive care before being removed from the ward. Carroll County Sheriff James Coghill and Deputy Sheriff Jerry Britton investigated the incident.

Two Accidents Near Patton Sunday
Two accidents occurred near Patton on Sunday. Brenda S. Davis swerved her 1966 Corvair into a ditch two miles east of Patton to avoid a chain reaction crash, with $100 damage. Deputy Jerry Britton investigated. Later, 14 miles west of Patton, John A. Campbell backed from a private drive and collided with Russell L. Stigers, causing $100 and $150 damages respectively. Campbell was ticketed for failure to yield.

Ken Burns has become head conservationist at the U.S. Sail Conservation Office in Kokomo after serving as conservationist at the Delphi SCS office since September of last year. He helped landowners create conservation farm plans using soil surveys and new soil and water tech. He attended a conservation school at Michigan State and received radiological monitoring training at Delphi, and led land treatment efforts in the Bachelor Run Watershed with landowner meetings in March and April.
