Mrs Mary Elizabeth Arledge 28 wife of Francis Arledge died Thursday after noon from injuries after a fall near her Pandale ranch. Funeral services were held Saturday morning at 10 in the Doran Chapel with interment in Westlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers included Will Mills Henry Mills Jr and Richard Baker. Her husband son Bobby James and her Pettitt parents of Carlsbad NM survived.
Frederick Snite, 28, infantile paralysis victim, arrived in San Francisco aboard the President Coolidge from China en route to Chicago for treatment. His father said the voyage benefited him after being stricken 14 months ago during a world tour.

Blum’s associates say he may not submit a new measure, counting on friendly senators to back him after a personal appeal in the Senate.

Panama Canal officials revealed draft plans to enlarge the canal at an estimated cost of 150 million dollars to handle rising traffic. Work on plans could take ten years with another decade for construction, and new locks would not be in use before 1960. Salt Lake City June 14 A Bethlehem Steel executive refuses to shut down the Cambria Steel Works as snow slides force a postponement of a mountainside search for bodies of sons who died in a December airplane crash. Searchers later find the bottom of the vehicle was ripped off, explaining why wreckage did not yield the remains.
The Russian consul reported three Soviet aviators traveling from Moscow toward San Francisco were about 3500 miles from the North Pole area. If they maintain speed just under 85 mph, they expect to land at Oakland Airport around 3 p.m. CST Sunday after a three day flight. Officials watched the mission with limited public comment.
