Police sought D. McFarlan Moore 67 former Edison associate after the inventor with 100 patents and a role in television progress was found shot dead at his East Orange New Jersey home. Moore allegedly quarreled over business with the victim.

In Pittsburgh on June 19 a triple murder theory develops as bodies of Mrs. Martin J. Feely and their two young children are discovered at their home. The children were stabbed in the head and strangled, and Mrs. Feely was stabbed in the heart after a rope was tied tightly around her neck. Neighbors described the couple as unusually devoted. The husband was away at the time.
