Homecoming for Sherman brigade reunion attendees
Mr and Mrs Lyman A Carpenter returned from Chatanooga Tenn after attending the Sherman brigade annual reunion with about 1500 attendees. Carpenter visited the Chickamauga battlefield and believes he located the precise site where he lost his right arm in the September 19 1863 battle. A friend found a bullet at the spot and brought it home. This was his first visit to the field since the great battle and he notes little change in the surroundings.
