Defiance Boosts Cincinnati Toledo and Detroit Line Progress

Toledo's J M Morgan and city leaders visited Napoleon to view grading on the proposed Cincinnati Toledo and Detroit interurban. About fifty teams and seventy five workers have six miles graded with eight months needed to complete the right of way between Defiance and Napoleon.

Charges Filed Against Children's Home Superintendent

David Rasor, superintendent of the Children's home, was arrested on a serious charge of rape. Laura Stork, a 16 year old inmate, alleges assaults dating from December 1904 and on many occasions after. Rasor waived examination and was bound over to common pleas court for 800 dollars. Two younger inmates corroborate similar assaults.

Van Wert Easy as Defiance Routs Local Team in Showdown

Defiance high school crushed Van Wert 47 to 0 on the Central school campus. Miller led the visitors with multiple touchdowns while Ashbacher, Shores, and Hawk powered Defiance with strong ground gains and seven successful kicks.

Crushed Uniter Wagon Tragedy Claims Noble Man

John Sohn of Noble township died Saturday after a Thursday accident when a wagon loaded with household goods rolled over him on the J A Asbacher farm. Survived by his wife and seven children, funeral held at Brunersburg church with Rev Kiess. He was 47. Burial Brunersburg cemetery. Parents, a brother and sister live in Germany. Death of Mrs Jos Veith Sr in Defiance

Mrs. Joseph Veith senior died at her Holgate avenue home at 2 o clock Wednesday November 15 following over a year of illness and three months bedridden. Born in Baden Germany 57 years ago she came to America in 1883 and settled in Defiance. Surviving are husband Joseph Veith Jr Adolph and Harmon all of Defiance. She actively served St Johns Catholic church and was in the Ladies Aid Society Christian Mothers and Catholic Ladies of Ohio. Funeral was held Friday at 9 am at St Johns Church Rev Gloden officiating with interment Riverside cemetery.

Itinerant photographers in schools blamed for graft and waste

The St Marys Leader condemns traveling photographers who target public schools. It urges school officials to halt the practice, citing parents forced to pay for poor quality portraits.
