Bold Thief At Bryan Sparks Regional Chase
In Bryan on July 24 a thief seized a horse and buggy belonging to H Shaw during a large public gathering to hear the band, then fled. A posse formed and pursued the thief across the Indiana line through Saturday night and Sunday, but he eluded capture. The theft is linked to a spate of recent crimes in town. Separately, surveyors are mapping the Toledo, Ft Wayne & Western route, with Hirsch Construction pushing electric railway plans and expect rapid construction, duplicating the Toledo & Indiana line. The Hirsch company has built many interurban railroads and aims to build more lines including Toledo, Defiance & Southern, using the Stryker power house for motive power.
