Sleighing Party Honors J J Scoffield With Varied Delights

Wm Sharp and Elias Vincent led a sleighing party to J J Scoffield's ten miles east of the city. Eleven couples attended with classes for dancing comic rubber and a grand match. The evening featured oysters, songs by a male quartet, solos by Clara Stoll and Fred Latchaw, and a final late arrival at 5 30 am.

City Council Considers Electric Railway Franchise

A A Giffin of Hoaglin township measured corn shrinkage by weighing cribbed and hauled loads. From October 9 to October 22 he cribbed 34 970 pounds and hauled out 29 695 pounds between January 8 and February 1, showing a seasoning shrinkage of 14 percent. This challenges the old 7 to 8 percent rule and offers a valuable lesson.
