Fine Statuary For North Ridge Memorial
Four pieces of fine statuary from Europe arrived by the Wabash and are consigned to Rev. L Heiland for St Michael's church in North Ridge. They depict Corpus Christi Mary Magdalen St John and The Blessed Virgin and will crown the 15 foot monument costing $600 excluding freight. Iron with white enamel, base 12 by 12 feet tapering to 9 by 9 feet, designed by Father Heiland.

City Council Adjourns After Fire Escape Report and Sidewalk Actions
The city council met in adjourned session with all members present except Chenevert. The mayor's report showed 13.10 dollars from fines and licenses. A detailed fire escape report from the building committee was accepted. Sidewalk petitions and an ordinance to require new sidewalks were approved under suspension of rules. An ordinance vacating Carter avenue was passed. A 600 dollar transfer to the sewer fund was authorized. A West Clinton street sidewalk petition was approved with a bond of 400 dollars to cover removal work. payment for ditch and catch basins was denied by the city.
