Death of Mrs Myers after operation at Clinton street home
Mrs H W Myers of 848 Clinton street died Friday evening after an operation to remove an intestinal obstruction. Born Helen Gould in Syracuse in 1841 she lived in Defiance since 1876. She leaves ten children eight living, her husband Dr H W Myers and two sisters. Funeral was held Monday at her home with Rev E D Whitlock directing. Remains were taken to Toledo for burial in Forest City cemetery.

The Hotel Defiance was closed to the public Monday and its operations are being packed up due to ongoing losses. Judge F. L. Hay reports his son Leslie will undergo another operation after an X ray and hospital stay at St. Joseph's. Dr. Beck to perform the procedure later this week. Dr. H. W. Myers and family return from Toledo after the funeral of Rev. E. D. Whitlock. Mrs. Barbara Schlembach, 63, suffers paralysis with poor prognosis. her son Joseph returns home from Wapakoneta to find her in a declining condition.
