Gale S. Dunbar and Bertha C. Weaner were married at 2 30 pm Wednesday by the bride's father. A small gathering of relatives and friends attended with Diamond and Weaver providing music. The couple, both former Defiance county teachers, plan a several week northern honeymoon before settling in Toledo where Dunbar will work as a civil engineer. Lightning damages Postal Telegraph office during storm

A severe storm hit the city Wednesday at about 11 o clock causing extensive damage at the Postal Telegraph office in the Security Building and Loan Co. on Second Street. A lightning bolt burned out several fuses and melted brass connections, temporarily knocking multiple lines offline. Manager Charles Eberle narrowly avoided injury when flames erupted as he stepped away to close a door. The switch board remained intact, protected by fuse coverings, while nearby wires also suffered damage.
