An advertisement touts Kaskine as a tonic and specific remedy for malaria rheumatism and nervous prostration. It markets at $1 per bottle with mail order from 54 Warren St New York and notes a public exhibition model of the human body to show organs in health and disease.
Local notes cover road work, home improvements, cemetery upkeep, church services, and social events. Visitors include Miss Proctor in Mansfield and families from Toledo Springfield Ind. A veterans camp may form and a wreath at dec oration day honors soldiers. An editor taunts rivals while praising civic pride and patriotism.
Steward Gaylord loses a valuable horse and J W Myers buys a Walter A Wood harvester. Strawberries are in season and Ayersville plans a children’s day event. Israel Scott’s sawmill is now fire protected after a near disaster. Frank Stone may teach Ayersville first grade. Mail contract to Mrs Anna Adams starts July 1.
The village notes frequent rains with stories of school closure in a week, new purchases by John Stork including the Wm Troutwine grocery, and social visits to Adrian Michigan, Defiance, Toledo, Sylvania. Decoration day events feature the Edgerton and Center bands performing in the cemetery procession despite showers.

It notes Henry Davis adding to his house, James Giffey buying a McCormick binder, Adams Beck and Jerry Gries digging a well in district No. 1, and Henry Bostleman leasing land to Defiance oil. A Masonic celebration and basket picnic in Wauseon on St John day June 24 promises a grand affair. Col J H Brigham directs the march to the fair ground with Defiance Commandery No 30 and Tuenda wie No 19% in leading roles. An afternoon of music short addresses and a grand dress parade at 4 pm on Main street by Toledo and Defiance Commanderies is planned.
Jacob Memmer was found guilty of grand larceny at the recent term of Common Pleas Court and sentenced to one year in the penitentiary with no solitary confinement. The jury recommended mercy, and the court imposed the lightest sentence the law allows. He was charged only with stealing the orandy. The other case was taken off docket by consent and may be restored, though unlikely.
An old physician, retired, claims a vegetable cure for consumption bronchitis catarrh asthma and nervous debility has tested it in thousands of cases and will mail the recipe free of charge in English or German to any reader who sends a stamped request to W A Noyes Rochester New York. A note mentions Bed Bug paper in Texas creeping into notice.
The ad promotes Simmon's Liver Regulator as a safe vegetable tonic to prevent sickness and relieve colic headache and indigestion in children. It claims ease of use with other medicines and notes the genuine product bears a red Z trademark on the wrapper.
