Jno Van Liew, General Passenger Agent. A man named Dillon, a trapper and fisherman from the Maumee area, was joined by two young men of rough appearance at Perrysburg two weeks ago. They camped with him near a distillery until yesterday morning when Dillon and one companion went uptown leaving another with his son. Dillon returned to find the companion and his son missing. He traced them toward the canal and alerted Defiance authorities, proceeding on foot. A clue emerged at Shelt's where the trio ate with the boy present. Two Shelt boys accompanied them.
