Advertises Dr Haynes Golden Specific as a covert remedy to cure alcoholism by mixing into coffee or tea without the drinker’s knowledge. Claims thousands cured and urges readers to request a circular from Golpen Specific Co., Cincinnati, Ohio, with guaranteed results and confidential address.
A protracted meeting began at Lick Creek Bethel on the 21st and a Georgetown gathering closed on the 17th with a goodly number converted and taken into the church. Dated notices mention Dr Rickstraw treating Mrs Snyder, and local chatter covers health, weather, and a fire brick project by John Berbaker.
The article notes feverish railroad excitement with committees reporting liberal contributions and expects the road to be built by August. It also mentions illness of Jacob Goler improving under Dr Hartshorn and a local event by the Ney G A R Post on February 1 with supper and campfire at Crago hall and M E church, inviting ex soldiers and families to attend.
