Deer Park Students See George M at Music Hall
Fifty Deer Park High School students joined National Thespians Society and National Forensic League members on a Monday trip to the Music Hall for the George M musical. Chaperones Miss Mymie Caldwell and Miss Hilda Henderson accompanied the group. The outing aims to expose drama students to acting techniques and new lighting and sound methods for future productions. Additional activities are planned at Alley Theatre Pasadena Little Theatre Houston Music Theatre and Houston Theatre Center with workshops by professional actors and area students. The programs support improving acting style and performance.

The Pi Omicron Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi met at Mrs Katheryn Bernard’s home on September 22 with nine members present. Kathy McClendon received a welcome ritual from Ginger Lintott and Maxine Garris gave a program titled Speech before a social hour. The next meeting is set for October 6 at Ella Mae Young’s home.

Secretaries Seminar Set October 11
Sixth Annual Seminar for Secretaries by the Channel Chapter of The National Secretaries Assn International will be held Saturday October 11 at San Jacinto College. The Deer Park City Council adopted Ordinance No. 680 on September 23 1969 providing for and levying occupation taxes on coin operated machines in Deer Park Texas and imposing permit and license fees on liquor beer licensees with penalties up to 200 dollars per day for nonpayment, declaring an emergency.
