City Council approves Center Street widening and bids
City Council acted on multiple items including approving widening Center Street in front of Town Plaza and shopping center, with bids to be advertised. Walther Mischer Co. submitted the lone bid for 13th Street east of Luella, and Evelyn Taylor of Seabrook led as top bidders for Addressograph and Grapho-type machines. The speed limit on College Park Drive was lowered to 20 mph near the new park, and library board resignations were accepted with replacements named.

Night bicycle riders warned to light up
Youths who ride bicycles at night must have a head light a reflector and a tail light for safety. Several near miss incidents have prompted police warnings to be careful. Bicyclists without lights at night and their parents can be arrested. Cyclists should follow traffic laws and register bikes at the police station.
