Fifteen University of Houston seniors will begin student teaching in Deer Park Schools under district college collaboration. Clarkie Atkinson, Phyllis Griffin, Ina Padgett, Shirley Shipp and Mary Weaver join Deer Park Elementary with team teaching and individualized instruction in a non graded setting. Others, including Judy Barton and Mary Bell, will be placed across three larger elementary schools. One physical education major will train varsity football with Jim Amos, district head coach.
