Harold M. Culpepper Jr. 30, Shell employee, died May 23 after being critically burned in the May 10 explosion. He leaves Lena Culpepper, two children, and relatives in Pasadena and Heidelberg. Funeral services were at Second Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Jones officiating. Family asks donations to Second Baptist Church Building Fund.

Groundbreaking set for Bicentennial Fountain at library

A 4 p.m. Thursday May 27 groundbreaking for the Bicentennial Fountain will be held at the library per Bicentennial Commission chair Harold Dudley. Deer Park Chamber sets June 20 for Family Day Picnic at Camp Madison Friendswood with barbeque dinner and games 2 to 7 p.m. at $5.25 per plate.
