Police in Deer Park arrested eight people for public intoxication from June 3 through June 8 and one each for burglary of a car and for driving with no license sticker. Collie mauls 12 year old in Valeda incident
Johnny Wilson, 12, was attacked by a collie in the 7400 block of Valeda on Saturday June 5. The dog, owned by the Diaz family, bit him in the face and disfigured his nose. Police impounded the dog and monitor rabies signs as surgeons warn five years to heal. Johnny is a sixth grader at Deepwater Junior High School.

Bass Wins Deer Park Dem Primary by Large Margin
Incumbent County Commissioner Tom Bass defeated Homer Ford by a 78 percent margin across Deer Park precincts in the Democratic primary run-off. Deer Park turnout averaged five percent with 143 voters citywide. Bass carried Precinct One by 79 percent and won similarly strong margins in precincts 51 and 420.
