Ten year old Cookie Noak daughter of Mr and Mrs W G Noak of 801 Kentucky Deer Park is the 1971 N B T A Basic Strut Juvenile Division State Champion. The two day state contest in Euless Texas had 30 girls in the nine ten age group with Cookie winning the Strut Off. She also placed fifth in Military March. Cookies instructor is Roger Acosta.

City Administrator Clovis Mann reports bids for Christmas decorations were awarded to L. C. Williams Co for 1294.50 over Deco Mfg Co at 1890. The council approved paving T Street for 140,571.20 to Durwood Greene Construction and postponed several ordinances and studies including fire code updates and traffic signal installation.

The first letter requests a race track, football and hockey games, a walkie talkie, and is signed Doc Jr. from Deer Park. Hearing Set Dec. 15 In $1.3 Million Suit Against Simco
In district court an injunctive hearing is scheduled for Wednesday December 15 after a suit filed November 22 against Houston First Savings and Loan Association and Simco Development Inc by 31 Deer Park Spencerview Pasadena and Houston residents. The Citizens Who Want A Deed seek 1.3 million in damages and an injunction to stop Simco from taking their homes.

Foreclosure and harassment suit over contracts for deed in Houston area
