Christmas Parade And Large Houston Terminal Project Planned

The Robertson group announced a 12 million dollar expansion into a TEC Terminals South on the Houston Ship Channel near the San Jacinto Monument. TEC will build a 1600 foot dock site, a 42 foot draft capable slip, rail truck and materials handling, and a new truck terminal for up to 150 rigs, with land and harbor facilities purchased from Equity Export Corp. Construction starts January on a 20 acre segment, with further facilities including air storage and ship shore transfer.

Christmas Parade in Deer Park Plans Big World Theme

The Deer Park Jaycee annual Christmas Parade will kick off at 12:30 p.m. Saturday December 4 with the theme Christmas Around the World. The route runs along Eighth Street Center to P Street with the Honor Band Pride of Dallas H Grady Spruce High School Apache Band and Sundancer Drill Team leading. Radio hosts Tim and Bob will be grand marshals for 40 units. trophies will honor best float riding club and two twirling teams. Pearl Harbor nurse Ann Newton recalls 1941 attack

Ann Tucker Newton served as a Navy Nurse Corps officer in Hawaii. She describes the surprise aircraft attack on December 7, 1941, at Pearl Harbor Naval Hospital, the blasts, shrapnel, and 24 hour shifts. After six months she returned to the mainland, later married Bill Newton, and continued nursing.
