The paper lists new families moving to Deer Park and invites them to join local churches and civic groups. Residents include Russell F. Cash, C J Aisenbrey, Diane Bowers, Clay H Segrest, Donald J Adams, R C Sheppard, and Bob Burns with daughter Beth. They recently returned from a 10 day camping trip in Colorado and New Mexico.
Mike Warren has served as president of the Cham ber of Commerce for two years after election in 1968 and 1969. The group, about 70 members strong, plans part time management and programs to boost social and economic growth. Warren, operations manager at Equity Export, oversees shipping logistics involving India Brazil South Africa Jordan Japan and Algeria. He and his wife live at 737 Columbia and attend First Methodist Church.
Special to the Deer Park Progress from James R. Collier aboard the USS Hornet CVS-12 recounts the Apollo 11 splashdown on August 25 1969. He notes the President aboard and the astronauts Arm strong Collins and Aldrin, their triumph, and the public awe as the recovery and decontamination process began in Houston.
