December 9 1913 reports a big Christmas dance planned for the I O O F hall in Dee with Yates harp orchestra set to provide music. The piece notes community events and visits, including names of local residents and families in Burr Oak and nearby Canton.
December 9 1913 Goodwin Lee and sister Mamie spent Sunday with the Sjoboens Misses Josephine and Laura Kelseth called at the Orange home Sunday Clarence Danielson helped husk corn for Wm Johnson near Nordness Ben Teslow of Glenwood visited James Gullickson home Ramum s on Tuesday Mrs T Halverson called at her father Ole Garden last Friday who is gradually failing Mrs John Sersland and babe Almira spent days visiting Sjoboen home Mrs O Rovang returned from Chicago after brief visit with Onsrud and Gunderson families Miss Laura Kolseth will be a contestant at the spelling contest in Decorah Friday night Mrs Frank Congdon came from Calmar visiting Halverson Ole Hove from near Ridgeway and Mrs Gilbert Hove of Decorah were guests at Tom Iverson home.
Calmar notes show numerous Decorah visitors and business calls, with residents traveling to Ossian, Ossian, Fort Atkinson, and Monona. Social events include Kensington club, Study club meetings, and a large funeral attendance, plus farm visits and a basket social announced for Moneek school.
Mrs Rae Runkle spent Friday at Geo Allen s. Joe Ehler delivered cattle at Ossian today. Mrs Peter Rosa is some better at this writing. Dr Lynch of Ossian called in this vicinity Thursday. Mrs Elmer Lennon visited Mrs L D Burrows Thursday. Miss Lila Jones spent Monday night with Ruth Schweinerus. Ed Youmans was a business transaction at Ole Evans Thursday.
By special execution the district court levied on the west half of the southwest quarter of section twenty in township 08 range west of the St. Paul Milwaukee line in Winneshiek County Iowa. The property will be sold at the front door of the Decorah Court House on Tuesday December 30 1913 at 10:30 AM to satisfy a judgment for 35 57 with interest from November 11 1914 at the rate of percent per year and 3 55 attorney's fee and 20 50 costs recovered by The National Bank of Decorah on November 11 1919.
