First American Flag in France Arrives With Stanford Unit
The first American flag on the French battle front led by Reland Root Speers of Marshalltown Iowa and the Leland Stanford university hospital ambulance unit. Presented by Friends of France Society San Francisco the flag bears a message signed by President Wilson. French officers call the ceremony the greatest honor to the flag in France.
