A northbound freight train struck a taxi on a grade crossing early today in Marietta, killing the taxi driver Hoyt Frick and a female passenger Mrs. D H Pendley. 14 Arrested In Big Theft.
Fourteen men including two white clerks and 12 negroes were arrested in Birmingham on charges tied to a years long theft of about $200000 in goods from Moore Handley Hardware. Police say 17 truckloads were stolen this month and about $20000 was recovered by detectives.

Man Injured In Road Crash At Highway 31
