Decatur city council approved a six month grounds contest beginning May 22 with a prize pool of 50 dollars, 25 for first, 10 for second, and three awards of 5 each. The plan is run by the Decatur Garden Club with grounds only, open to humble homes as well as mansions.

Wanted Man Is Arrested In Slaying Case
Robert Sanders a 33 year old Negro was jailed awaiting Montgomery County officers to take him back for murder charges connected to the death of Will Talley. Talley was last seen fishing over a week ago his body found near a stream with head injuries and a throat cut. Sanders identified himself to police and admitted the killing after recognition by Chief W P Moore and Officer J B Whitmire. Deputies from Montgomery County were en route to transport him for trial.

Body Of Missing Pendergast Aide Recovered From Missouri
