Masked robber robs Cullman post office and flees with employee
A masked bandit broke into the Cullman post office before four in the morning and forced postal employee Lee Lassiter to accompany him a mile north on the Bee Line highway. Lassiter said the robber left apparently empty handed after entering via a side window, with bloodhounds failing to find a scent. Police reported no suspects in Cullman or Decatur and described the robber as medium height about 135 pounds wearing overalls and a cloth mask.

Cecil H. Witt aged 36 of Nashville Tennessee died at his home at 6 AM after an acute indigestion attack. The body will come to Decatur tonight for burial at his father T F Witt’s Sixth Avenue home.
