A federal judge ruled the University of Alabama cannot deny admission to two Negro women based on race. Four Men Shoot At N Y Justice Near Buffalo
Justice Hamilton Ward of the New York State Supreme Court escaped injury when four men in an automobile fired at his car on Route 20 near Buffalo late at night. Ward, 50, suggested the attack may be linked to jail sentences he handed down to juvenile delinquents. He was traveling toward his Lake Erie summer cottage when the incident occurred shortly after 11 p.m. He reported four shots were fired as the other car pulled alongside.
