State Senator Shelby Sidney Fletcher, 61, Huntsville cotton merchant and budget act author, died at home after a period of ill health. A Democrat and Delta Kappa Epsilon member, he served in the Alabama House 1911 1919 and in the Senate from 1931. He funded half of a Monte Sano park project.
