Accused Negro Held After Cedar Lake Shooting Allegations
Robert Ford, sought by officers for days on charges of shooting and wounding Marty Frances Yeager, was captured Friday by deputies Kilgore and Britnell and City Policeman J W McCall. Ford was arrested in Cedar Lake and jailed in Morgan County. The mother said Ford rented a room at her home before the incident then used an axe on Yeager and fired a revolver striking her in the nose and lodging in the forehead. No preliminary hearing date was set.

FRANKEFORD Mich June 24 AP Mrs Charles Rennie 27 was rescued late last night from a raft she clung to in Lake Michigan after an airplane crash. She watched her husband and two men sink to their deaths and was brought here today weak from exposure. She described the crash Thursday and how the men fashioned a raft from a cushion and oil can for her to float on. She was picked up by a car ferry and brought to Fran k eyd.
