Officials announced unpaved sections along Church street on both sides of a 20 foot concrete strip will be dressed with grading material and stone to form a smooth approach to the curb. Charges Against McKendrick Pressed in Court
Nine grand jury indictments against C. Stuart McKendrick for violation of blue sky laws tied to stock sales were pressed in circuit court. McKendrick was returned to Birmingham after a three month jail term and brought to Decatur for trial. Woodruff Home Consumed by Fire in Limestone County
Sparks on the roof started a blaze at the Woodruff residence owned by Tobe Woodruff. Gordon Easter and Earl Legg escaped with belongings as the house, outhouses, and a barn were destroyed. The earlier barn had burned 20 years ago after a lightning strike. the new barn on the site remained unscathed.
