Alabama TB care funding bill clears Senate Finance Committee
The measure would raise the state per day per patient contribution to six dollars, nearly doubling current support. Counties would cover amounts above six dollars. Alabama Tuberculosis Association officials hailed the move as a long overdue solution, predicting new TB hospitals may be built where counties lack facilities. House members began debating Gov. Folsom dock control legislation for Mobile facilities, after a period of gubernatorial oversight.
