Roosevelt weighs veto on farm bill amid tax reform push
A report says President Roosevelt may veto the 1.218 billion farm bill over unbudgeted farm benefit payments and missing new taxes. Congress debates three paths: override, finance benefits with a new appropriation, or tax changes. Secretary Wallace pressures for approval while Morgen Morgen-Hsouow outlines a tax revision program favoring corporate tax reform and capital gains changes. The Ways and Means Committee votes to limit hearings to corporate tax questions and aims to pass a bill by June 30.
