Healer Avak Hagopian Draws Large LA Crowd
A crowd packed the Armenian Apostolic Holy Cross church in Los Angeles to glimpse Avak Hagopian, a 20 year old Armenian self styled faith healer. Police and ropes failed to curb the surge as a woman fainted and several children were momentarily endangered. Avak wore a bearded look and moved among worshipers during a communion service amid a flurry of word ahead of his appearance.

Toone Killed Near Athens in Highway Accident
Larry Kelley Toone 49, a farmer and WWI veteran, died Saturday night after being struck by a car on U S 31 twelve miles north of Athens. Harold Posey, 20, said he was blinded by headlights and could not see Toone before impact. Survived by daughter Doris and three sons, with homes in Ardmore Elk Mtn Pane Hazelgreen and other towns.

Miss Lurline Lee Bernickle of Lawrenceburg was beaten and robbed after being forced into a car Saturday. Tennessee and Alabama highway patrols and the FBI searched for a maroon Pontiac convertible with suspected North Carolina plates. The victim, in serious condition, underwent surgery revealing skull fractures and possible assault. Names given by the girl point to Fayetteville North Carolina origins for the assailants.
