Raymond Hamilton, once Clyde Barrow's lieutenant and now the most sought fugitive, told a prisoner at a farmhouse near McKenney Texas that Clyde was killed on the third pursuit and hinted this would be his own end. He handled an automatic rifle and predicted his fate after a brush with officers.
Federal jurors weigh the Barrow case while Texas officers press the search for Raymond Hamilton. Mothers and families of Barrow and Parker stand accused of harboring the fugitives. Five others plead guilty as Hamilton, Barrow’s successor, is tracked after a jailbreak and kidnap plot near McKinney.

In Lorts mouth England on February 26 Rear Admiral Sidney Robert Bailey was acquitted by an admiralty court martial of responsibility for the collision between battle cruisers Hood and Renown. The trial marked the first admiral of his rank to face such proceedings since the war.

The Tennessee Valley Laboratory has sent out 21 anti rabies vaccine treatments since Monday. Most went to Cullman County. others to Florence Ardmore Sheffield and Cherokee. Demand has been so high the supply was exhausted again today officials said.
A northwest cold wave drives freezing temperatures across the Gulf Coast with rain and wind. New Orleans sees 29 to 32 degrees, Clarksdale around 20, and Memphis Nashville and Little Rock near 24. Cold persists tonight from the Carolinas to northern Florida and into Texas and Oklahoma.
