Good Milk Cows Prove Profitable
In Wetumpka Alabama seven purebred milk cows produced a total yearly average of 6827 pounds of milk and 343.9 pounds of butterfat per cow. The herd, fed on home grown feed with minimal bought feed, beat the state average of 3030 pounds of milk and 135 pounds of butterfat. Supervised by leaders at the state demonstration farm the herd demonstrates profitable small-scale dairy farming.
