Montgomery Ala Dec 15 Suits for additional liability were filed in United States district court here against 30 stockholders of the Fourth National Bank which recently merged with the First National Bank.

Mrs Mary Sims of Danville died Saturday night at age 73. She is survived by three sons two daughters 15 grandsons six granddaughters and one great grandchild. Funeral services were held Sunday at 11 at Danville Baptist church with Rev Pritchett officiating. Interment followed at Good Hope cemetery east of Cullman. Grandsons J L Sims W D Sims G D Sims J P Sims Orlee Sims and Richard Dean served as pallbearers.

John Henry Hartung a longtime city clerk for New Decatur and Albany and more recently with municipal offices, died at his Johnston street home after a lingering illness. Funeral is Tuesday at Westminster Presbyterian Church, where he was an active member. he leaves wife three daughters two sisters and a brother. Hartung’s public and religious work left a lasting impact on the community.

Inventory of Caldwell and Company filed in federal court by receivers lists assets at book value equal to liabilities of 39 589 656 02. The report reflects the company condition as of November 13 when Caldwell and Company entered receivership and does not claim to be an actual financial statement.

Mrs. Comer Ezell was slightly injured when her car collided with a machine driven by a Black man on the Bee Line highway near Whiteside. She suffered facial flesh wounds from flying glass and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Members of the West End Methodist Bible class paid a $5.00 cash bond to settle a speeding fine for a Warrior driver. The officer said he could not accept the money without identification and the driver must appear in court at six o'clock Tuesday morning for trial. After the class meeting they donated funds to cover the penalty.
In Birmingham and surrounding areas three people were killed and more than a dozen injured in weekend car crashes. Victims include Jewel Hodge 20 of Morris Alabama F L Wadsworth of Tuskegee and W A Bradley of Montgomery.
Ben A. Blackman aged 21 is jailed on murder charges after fatally shooting Boyd Brown 21 near a Wylam church. Blackman swore Brown accosted him and his female companion as they left services, Brown allegedly kicked the woman and reached for a weapon, Blackman said he drew and fired four shots, two striking Brown. A younger sister of the woman witnessed the incident and the coroner indicated an investigation would proceed.
Mrs. Jessie Wilkerson of Trussville was shot in the head when her 7 year old son discharged a gun he was handling. The weapon was believed unloaded but fired during play. Doctors operated to remove the bullet and she was reported recovering.
