Two Pell City Men Held After Auto Chase
In Talladega Alabama two Pell City men J L Layton and John E Clay both 30s were charged with assault and reckless driving after a running gun battle with Talladega police and ABC officers. Their car was found abandoned in Pell City after being pursued then involved in a lock bumpers incident downtown Talladega with an ABC vehicle. The chase ended when a tire blew out and the officers gained control.

Taxi driver questioned in stepson death
In Atlanta a taxi driver was jailed on suspicion of murder after the stepson John Marvin Morris, 12, died by asphyxiation at his mother's home. Man suffocated in Birmingham early morning fire
