A U S Air Force airman armed with a pistol and rifle fired at a South England fighter base killing three and wounding several before fleeing to a beach resort. He was cornered on a Margate beach, a gun battle followed, and he killed himself. Police reported six to eight killed or wounded and two dead Britons identified. The attacker was Airman 2 C Napoleon Green of Chicago.

Florence William Taylor, 27, died in a hospital yesterday from burns suffered when testing a gas water heater at J. A. McPeters’ home. McPeters remains in serious condition in a local hospital.
