Mental health budget bill heads to governor in Alabama
Alabama lawmakers moved an $81 million mental health budget toward Gov George Wallace as the session recess began. The Senate rejected a constitutional amendment to make the lieutenant governor full time, while the House backed a new 18 member Board of Health and other measures including auto title registration law and Medicaid expansion for chiropractic treatment. If the amendment passes in November it would take effect after the next lieutenant governor assumes office.
