Senator Heflin involved in highway crash near Anniston

Senator J. Thomas Heflin escaped with minor bruises when a car carrying him and three aides collided with a truck about six miles north of Anniston on the Bee Line highway. Injured were Heflin Jr. with a severe head laceration, P. B. Schuessler Jr. with broken ribs, and Walter Brown with leg cuts and a fore head gash. The car struck a tele phone pole after a near miss with the truck.
