Funeral services for Mrs. Oolooloo Hadley Jenkins 81 were held today at 4 p.m. at Brown Service Funeral Home Chapel with Doyle Banner officiating. Burial followed at Roselawn Cemetery. Brown Service Funeral Home directed arrangements.
More than 350 top young riders from across the country will compete in the first annual Boll Weevil Mini cycle Classic at Decatur National Motorcycle Speedway on August 11 and 12. Sanctioned by the AMA Youth Division, the event offers full novice to expert programs with trophies in all divisions on a new limestone surface short track and a Moto cross course. Registration is set for August 10 and the event is promoted by KAD McPat and the Decatur track.

Funeral services mark the death of 66 year old James H. Johnson of 113 7th Ave Athens who died Tuesday at Athens Limestone County Hospital. Rev. Dewey Craft officiated at United Pentecostal Church with burial in Dement Cemetery. Survivors include Ruby Johnson and three daughters Gertie Mae Riggs Betty Travis and Faye Dollar a son James Pex Johnson Jr two sisters and two brothers with 18 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Mr. Johnson was a member of the United Pentecostal Church. He was a native of Muary County. Pallbearers named.

Eagill seeks permission to operate a retail uniform sales at 1123 Somerville Road SE in MC District. Mrs Max Blankenship seeks permission to park a mobile home on Vestavia Drive SW in AG District. Robert M Sellers seeks a 1 foot side yard variance and a 1 foot rear yard variance to build a detached building at 2403 Dogwood Lane SE in R-1 District. H H Holland seeks a 9 foot front yard variance to renovate an existing building for office use at 817 Sixth Avenue SE in 81 District.
