Booster Club stage flag day events with a 8 by 16 foot wool flag raised by local youths Cameron Martin and Norman Thompson. Jamestown Band and G A R member E H Russel led the parade from East Christian church to the library yard where patriotic songs were sung and Z T Sweeny of Columbus spoke. Camp Fire Girls and Boy Scouts received carnations from A S Pett and John Rettinger. Concerts in the evening drew large crowds.

The M E church held a Children’s Day program Sunday evening with flower-decorated pulpit a recital and song portion. A flag drill by young girls and a male quartet performance received an encore. The Boy Scouts tableau featured soldiers near a tent while the quartette sang Tenting Tonight Star Spangled Banner closed the event.

Beck Accident Near Loranger Injures Beck and Son
C R Beck and his son Loren narrowly escaped serious harm when Loren’s horse stumbled and fell on him during cattle loading. Beck and his horse toppled as he tried to turn away, injuring Loren’s ankle and leaving Beck with bruises and sprained wrists though he later traveled to New Orleans to dispose of cattle.

Golden Wedding Anniversary Celebrated by Chesterson Family

Despite rain on Saturday, about fifty attendees enjoyed a placid Sunday with dinner, photo activity, a recitation, and a skating demonstration.
