Pittsylvania County voters in the 13th District select three winners from six candidates for the Virginia House of Delegates. Democrats A L Philpott Claude Swanson and Mary Sue Terry lead, backed by Henry Howell for governor. Republicans Fred Ingram and Fred D Smith Jr plus independent Robert Gore also run. Voters also pick state offices and five bond measures totaling 125 million dollars. Polls open 6 am to 7 pm.

Survived by wife Margaret, two daughters Virginia Shobe and Emily Parker, son George B. Anderson, nine grandchildren. Graveside service Monday 4 p.m. at Highland Burial Park. Virgie Stump Agee 53 of Yanceyville Route 2 died Sunday at Memorial Hospital of Danville after years of declining health and four days of serious illness. Police arrest Ramsey Keith on drug and weapon charges
