Decoto District Hikes Budget and Taxes for 1962 63
The Decoto district proposes a 1,227,402 dollar budget for 1962-63 based on a higher assessed valuation, raising the average homeowner’s tax bill by about 1.40 dollars annually. The plan includes increases for general operations and staffing, with a possible 8 cent county unification tax proposal and hearings set for July 19. A new fifth grade class and additional staff are planned at Foothill, plus Dr. Phillip Petersen joins Hayward State College to lead a Spanish workshop for teachers.
