Alameda County Joint Refuse Rate Committee drafted a new schedule with higher rates for Hayward Castro Valley and Oro Loma districts to cover $1.4 million dump closing costs. SACRAMENTO UPI The Senate Judiciary Committee unanimously approved a parole reform package named after Debbie Rebiejo, a 21 year old San Lorenzo coed who was molested and killed by a parolee. The bills AB283 AB876 would raise parole eligibility to 15 years on life sentences and require public safety findings before release. If enacted the act would also require board approval for life-term releases and track parolees who commit homicide. The bills move to the Senate floor after strong support from Assemblyman Alister McAlister and the Rebiejo family.
