Saigon area escapee Sgt Kenneth R Gregory 24 recalls nine months as a prisoner of Viet Cong. Spotted near the Cambodian border by an American helicopter he had escaped and hid in jungle for four days before rescue. He was taken to the 24th Evacuation Hospital in Long Binh in good condition but weighed 10 pounds less. His first American meal included fried chicken and milk, then a full steak dinner with vegetables and ice cream. Gregory joined the Army in 1964 arrived in Vietnam in 1967. he plans to return home soon for time with wife and mother. His family info lists several relatives and locations in Oklahoma and California.
