The world’s smallest Monte Casino Chapel, on a hillside since 1878, is moved to a Kenton County site for Villa Madonna College. Built in 1578 by monk Alberic Louis as a Benedictine retreat, the four by six foot chapel was hoisted onto a flatbed for the four mile move after its steeple was removed for clearance. Fred Riedinger, who owned it in 1937, donated the church to Villa Madonna in memory of his mother Alma Riedinger.
